A families home recently burned down and they are currently in need of furniture, kitchen supplies such as pots and pans, spatulas, ect and undergarments for the student. Any help with help this family get back on track.

On April 3rd a family lost their home due to a fire which is currently under investigation. They lost everything. They were only able to grab a couple of clothes. They are currently in need of a couch. Anything will help this family get back on track.

This request is for a high school senior. She is an excellent student as well as a student athlete. The student has faced a lot of adversity and has channeled her energy into her academics with plans to become a nurse. She has already been accepted into a competitive nursing program and completed all necessary applications. The student does not have much support in her life. She was living with an aunt who moved away. The student had to move as well and is now a 2 hour bus ride away from school. The caregiver cannot afford to drive the student back and forth each day and would be more able to drive her with financial support in the form of gas cards. The student has taken the city bus to school but has also had absences recently due to the stress of the long ride as well as other current life stressors. We hope to ease some of the stress the student is experiencing and help her be present at school to finish the year out strong. Thank you in advance for your consideration.

Currently assisting a single mother with a 3-month-old baby boy who is struggling to make ends meet. She has a part-time job, but her income is not enough to cover basic necessities for her growing baby, including size 3 diapers, wipes, formula, and clothing. Additionally, her EBT benefits were reduced due to her employment, making it even more difficult to afford groceries. She's been relying on food banks, but the available canned goods are not always the healthiest option. A grocery gift card would be extremely helpful during this challenging time.

A 15 year old male, that I am working with, has moved through numerous placements during the past year and a half (within the foster care system). Many of his personal items have been displaced along the way. It is apparent that not only has he lost many of his personal items, he has also begun to lose hope. He will not be reunifying with his parents, is separated from his siblings, and is currently in a group home placement. Though he has made a few bad choices along the way, he is a nice young man. He has a goal of being back with a foster family some day. During a recent team meeting, that was focused on this youth, it was disclosed that he loved to play the piano and that he had an "ear for it." He was self taught and prior to to the start of his numerous placement changes, he would invest a great deal of time playing. The group agreed that this might help him maintain his placement and focus his attention and energy on something positive. It would also be a physical item that he knew was his. When this was discussed with the youth, he lit up! Much of his day, outside of school, is spent sitting, not doing much. I am reaching out requesting a Keyboard for this youth and a pair of headphones to go with it. Hoping for something of decent quality. I will be ensuring that no matter where this youth is placed, that his keyboard will travel with him. Please see note for additional information.

This is a formerly homeless family: a single mom with 5 children (3 in Alvord schools, one toddler, one baby). They have finally been able to find an affordable rental.  They are desperately in need of beds and have requested 3 twin bed frames/mattresses and also bedding (pillows, sheets, blankets). The 3 beds will be for two high school girls and one elementary-aged boy.

Family of 6 has been struggling due to loss of permanent housing, they lived in a hotel for almost a year. They just recently secured an apartment and a place to finally call home. Family needs bed frames for their mattress, sofa and a microwave. The parent feels this need being met will bring a feeling of safety and normalcy which will impact the school age child positively both emotionally and academically.

Two young families are reaching out to the community for support as they begin a new chapter in their lives. After living in a single room, they’ve made incredible progress and have successfully moved into an apartment. While this is a huge step forward, they’re starting from scratch and need almost everything to turn their new space into a home: two beds and a refrigerator to replace the compact refrigerator. The mother and children were abandoned and left homeless, struggling to find a place to live. They have been facing homelessness since December 2024. The family has recently transitioned from homelessness into their new apartment, but the mother and children are currently sleeping on the floor. They are in need of beds, which would provide them with proper sleeping arrangements and help ensure they can rest peacefully at night once this need is met. This will also ease some of the mother's financial burden. The family will greatly appreciate the support afforded to them.
